Just dropping by to say hi! I know it's been a while. I guess the reason I don't write as much anymore is because it usually takes me an hour+- to squeeze out a few sentences. Hah..I just noticed something..my blog says "Confessions of a Creative Mind," yet I am not even the least bit creative when it comes to writing. The creative part applies in art, and only to a certain extent. I am actually laughing at myself in my mind right now that it takes me such a long time to complete a sentence. (I think that was a run on. Somebody needs to go back to basic grammar.)

Well anyway, school started about two months ago. Going good so far. My classes are fairly interesting, except science of course. I never liked it. But the teacher is nice, so that makes it better. I'm also glad that I won't have to dissect for real this year. It will be a virtual dissection. I'll be slicing a frog's stomach with my mouse. *click* Take that you nasty ball of slime! I actually have some Mount Rushmore pictures to post here, but I have to transfer it and use the other computer and bla bla bla...Too much work. I'll do that another time. Right now, I have something else to make up for the lack of interesting-ness. My nutrition teacher from last semester sent this to us. She's really funny!

What's the difference between a fly and a mosquito?
A mosquito can fly, but a fly cannot mosquito! Hah!

What's the difference between roast beef and pea soup?
Anybody can roast beef, but no one can 'pea' soup!

Hey, it's my 100th post. I don't have anything special, though. Just a video, but it's worth watching!

Hey! This will be a longer post. I have been saving this as a draft and adding more and more to it, just never got to posting it. It has been quite a busy summer, but a lot of fun! I'll try to arrange everything chronologically.

So we went to Duluth in June. It was a family vacation/for my mom's birthday. It was SO cold! But still very beautiful. There's a huge lake in Duluth called Lake Superior. You almost feel like your at sea. It's really pretty. This was a very laid back trip, we just spent most of the time relaxing. On the first day, we had a picnic, checked in to the hotel, and had dinner at a place called "Grandma's Saloon and Grill." And that was it.

Oh I almost forgot. I had my first smore. It wasn't super good or exciting, but it was cool to be able to make one. My camera battery was running low at this point, so we had to use my dad's phone. Hence the blurriness.

The next day, we went on a cruise around Lake Superior. The captain was talking about historical things and bla bla bla all the way.. I didn't listen. Sorry. After that, we checked out of the hotel and drove around town. I was interested to see the houses that were all up on the hill. It's a really small town, and everything is so close to each other. It's quite interesting, and somewhat similar to San Fransisco.

This is a High School. It's really big...and purrty!

I don't remember if we did anything else after the Duluth trip. We might have went strawberry picking, but that wasn't as fun as last year. So I won't talk about it. I think I spent most of my summer so far at summer classes. Rachael took math, and I took art. It was sort of my first time being in an actual class here. I have to admit that I was pretty nervous because I had not met anyone of my age since I moved here. But it turned out to be a lot of fun. Everyone in my class was really friendly and nice. It's also nice to talk to people with the same interest. The teachers were really good too, I learned so much that I didn't know before. There were field trips to art museums, galleries, and a textile center. At the end of each session, we had an art show where we'd showcase all of our work. It was really a lot of fun. I'm so glad I did this..definitely going back again next year if I have the chance.

Note: I attended two sessions, so there were two shows.

First drawing I did on the first day. Still life in charcoal.

Portrait of a classmate. Ink, black and white charcoal.

Surrealistic landscape in acrylic. We had to assemble a surrealistic landscape using pictures from magazines first as reference for the painting. The bottom half is not complete yet, only the planet is.

Everyone's work for Session A.

More artwork from Session B.

This is my favorite piece. I'm really proud of it. It's my hand done with color pencil.

I used the image on the left as a reference for my contour watercolor piece. The reference picture was printed in black and white btw.

Figure drawing of a classmate in charcoal and white pencil.

Tye-dye stuff I did at the textiles centers for one of our field trips.

Self portrait, Andy Warhol style. Before you say, "Oh my gosh! This is fantastic! You did that?" Let me tell you how it was done and it will sound a lot easier. I took a picture with photobooth using one of those effects, so all I had to do was outline it. And then I traced it onto the paper. Yes, I traced it. I'm not very proud of that. The only thing that I really invested time in was choosing the color.

My part of the wall for the show. You might be able to read the artist's statement in the middle if you enlarge the image.

I'm almost done. This is the last thing, and then you won't see me for another month..or two...make that three. Haha! Just a couple of things I made/baked/fried/iced/ate. I made my own curry puffs! Yea, that's right! From scratch! I was reading a friend's blog, and she posted some pictures of curry puffs. I really wanted to have some, and the only way I could was to make it on my own. It was worth it, though. Can compete with all the mak cik already..haha! Or not. I also made 4th of July themed cookies. It was an extremely long process. I started baking them after lunch, and finish decorating them at 4 in the morning. Everybody has different passions, mine so happens to be sugar cookies. :P

Alright, I think that's all there is to say. I'm going to Colorado this Friday, so I'll probably blog about that when I come back. Bye!

I baked strawberry cupcakes today. Recipe from Martha Stewart's site. Yet another half-right experiment. The cupcakes turned out just fine, but I decided to be spontaneous with the frosting. "Hey, why not just make it without a recipe!" Yea, real smart of me. When will I ever learn? I know, I have probably said that every time I baked something. Anyway, I am really tired. Just wanted to post some pictures and head to bed. Please remind me to follow instructions the next time.

Wooooohoooooooooo!!!! I am done with the school year! 3 months of nothingness!!! YAY!!! So excited!! (Hence, all the exclamation marks.) I was up for the last 24 hours finishing the last few assignments. That means I did a Science experiment, a quiz, two exams, and two essays in one day altogether. I'm so proud of myself! Now, why can't I be this productive on a regular basis? I drank one cup of Nescafe last night so that I would stay awake. The caffeine hasn't worn off yet. I don't feel very tired, but I'm still going to try to sleep. Ok, see you soon!

First off, I'll show you all some videos of my super cute 弟弟!

We invited another family over the other day. It's so fun to see him make friends so fast.

He started learning alphabets. He pronounces some of them really funny.

My mom was having some peanut butter today, and you know la..kids always want to eat 'adult food'. So he stuck his finger into the jar and licked it. And then he started rubbing his eyes. Few minutes later, his eyes and lips started to swell up. It was really bad! But funny at the same time. I took a picture so that he could see it next time. I suppose we would have to find out one way or another.

Here's a picture. It's from Rachael's blog. It's so cute, I just had to show you.

Get it? Fungi -Fun Guy! You can start laughing now.

Okay..coming to the thought section! Meaning interesting to me, but maybe not so much to you. Har har. (That's my sarcastic laugh if you didn't know.) It also means me being a bit wordy.

You know how sometimes when you're outside, and it's just really...NICE. Like when the weather is perfect, the clouds are all fluffy and cute, trees are so green and fresh..and you can't help but think that it's just so beautiful. Well, this is JUST A SHADOW of heaven! How cool is that?!! I was taking a walk with my mom the other day, and the trees were so pretty -they're all pink and white. (Spring is beautiful btw, especially after not seeing any color in winter.) And to think that this is a shadow of heaven is just incredible.

So yea, just something to think about.

I wanted to say a few more things, but I forgot what it was. Yea, I know you're all disappointed.

Alright, I guess I am done in the thought section. I'm excited that I only have two weeks of school left. And then 3 months of nothing! Every student's dream. But it's crunch time for now! My hunger cue has activated. Mmm mm pizza! See ya later!

So I tried out my roller blades today, and I gotta say, I think I'm doing pretty well. heh heh heh... My mom helped me out a lot. She's like an expert, theoretically la. She did a lot of research on it and found some good tips for beginners. That helped a lot. I still need someone to hold one of my hands, but not bad for my first time wat. One more thing I noticed, my writing is getting uglier and uglier! I have not written anything in almost a year since I do all my work on the computer. I was copying down a recipe today, and noticed that I cannot control my hand. I just cannot hold it with a strong grip anymore.

So that's the latest -learning to roller blade and losing control of my hand. You know all about my life now.

Check out this site: http://thisiswhyyourefat.com/

This was the first picture that came up. French fries covered with cheddar cheese, sour cream, ground beef, guacamole and Doritos. How can someone actually eat that? Crazy.

Here's another one...

A hard boiled egg on-a-stick wrapped in sausage, rolled in breadcrumbs, and then deep fried. Healthy to unhealthy.

I got a pair of roller blades! YAY!! They're not my size, but I'm still going to try them out. I'm excited!
